Once again the importance of keeping records...
I thought that I had worked hard at recording all the new things I have done on my really amazing fridge calendar. The one where I have a picture of my sister posing as a movie star while on a high school orchestra tour at California Adventure. But this post isn't about those fun memories, they are about the importance of recording significant events in our life. Although we may say "I'll surely remember that." It just doesn't happen. Plus our memories change as we grow and see the world differently. I have written on my calendar for this day...help clean the Church building at 9am (after long run).... oh yeah! that was my new thing. I upped my long run to 7.5 miles!!!! That was cool, except I realized I needed to find a new long run route as I ran into a lot of road construction (literally).
After cleaning the Church I went and helped out with a service project where my friend needed help in getting her dad's backyard in shape for her wedding reception. Her fiance is a professional landscaper, so he was completely redoing their front and back yards. (that's a nice gift to give the father - in -law). I moved rocks from one side of the yard to the other. Oh, I also discovered that it is not good to do leg exercises the night you do your long runs. Your legs are still tired and need to recover at least another day or so. Instead, just sit on the bench and strengthen the biceps.
